PDP Questions Credibility Of 1.7 Billion Naira Donation By Farmers To President Buhari's Campaign
The National Chairman of the People's Democratic Party Uche Secondus has expressed down to the report that rice farmers have endorsed President Muhammadu Buhari for a second term by donating 1.7 Billion Naira to his re-election campaign. The Chairman of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria Aminu Goringo, he said every member of the association numbering about 12.2 Million people, donated #100 each to the campaign, which translates 1.2 Billion Naira while the Fertilizers
Producers and Suppliers Asscociation of Nigeria gave 570 Million Naira to the re-election bid of President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, Uche Secondus, speaking in a meeting in Abia State, he questioned the credibility of the statement saying "Farmers are advocate of their lands because of the clashes with herdsmen that the Buhari's Government is yet to effectively tackle".
He Said the murder of the immidiate past Chief of Defence Staff and retired Chief Air Marshall Alex Badeh has shown the level of insecurity that Nigeria has descended into under Buhari. Secondud said that when the People's Democratic Party handed over power to the All Progressives Congress, Nigeria had the best performing ecoonomy in Africa.
He however stated that in the less than three and half years of the APC, Nigeria was named the poverty capital in the world.
