Somalia Kicks Out Its UN Envoy
The United Nations top official to Somalia Mr Nicholas Haysom, have been ordered to leave Somalia. This was ordered by the Somalian Government following accusations that the Diplomat in Somalia violated the agency's standards by acting like the country's leader.
Mr Haysom had previously sent a letter to the Interior Security Minister on December 30th.
In the letter, he expressed his concerns over the Country's security, questioning the legal basis of the arrest of the former deputy leader of Somalia's main terrorist organisation Al-shabab Mukthar Robow on December 13th, the death of 15 citizens on the 13th, 14th and 15th of December and the arrest of approximately 300 people involved in protests on the 13th, 14th an 15th of December.
The Somalian Internal Security Ministry stated that Mukthar Robow was arrested after there were suspicions that he brought back more militiamen and weapons back to the Southern city of Baidoa.
