Investigation continues on the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old girl

Kindly share.

Investigation is still underway on the fatal stabbing of a 17 year old girl, Jodie Chesney in Romford. Detectives are urging witnesses or anyone with information to contact the police.

The London Ambulance Service called the police on 9:25pm on Friday to report a stabbing incident in a park close to Neot's road in Harold Hill. Her next of kin has been informed and the post mortem examination that was carried out on Sunday showed that she died as a result of trauma and hemorrhage.

The Homicide and Major Crime Command(HMCC) has launched an investigation and has been able to give initial enquiry that Jodie sat on a bench and was listening to music and was with a group of 5 teenagers, who her friends, and were socialising in the park on Friday evening before Jodie was stabbed.

Jodie's group were aware of two males in the park who left at around 9:00pm without interacting with Jodie nether with her friends. Just few minutes later, the two males came walking straight towards Jodie and her friends where one of the males stabbed Jodie once in her back.

One of the male has been described as a black male aged male in his teens and no further description was given about the other male. Dave Whellams, the detective leading the investigation has said:

"Although the description of the suspect is limited, I am certain that people will have seen the two males hanging around the park or running away from the scene, or otherwise have noticed something suspicious. I need those people to call me."
